Social Cartographies: An Urbanism of Open Framework

This article delves into the evolving landscape of city-making, inspired by urban visionaries from the 1960s to the 1980s. Whyte, and Jan Gehl, emphasizing a shift from deterministic cartographies to adaptive methodologies. The article concludes by addressing contemporary challenges in placemaking, the synergy between technology and citizen sensing, and the critical need for ethical considerations in guiding the future of urban development.
