Issue 9.2

The Act of Innovating and Ingenuity of Innovation: Rethinking Creative Approaches to Building Sustainable Environments

Innovation has been discussed in various contexts, with scholars describing it as both the act of inventing ideas to solve problems and the process of delivering products and services that offer value in new or innovative ways (Singh and Aggarwal Citation2021; McKinsey & Company Citation2022). Several questions have been posed regarding what constitutes innovation. Other questions, such as how long a product or service is considered inventive, metrics for evaluating innovation, or who validates a product, service, or idea as innovative, have been debated for many years. As a result, the topic of innovation was chosen as the focus of this issue of TAD to address various questions and contexts surrounding this exciting yet vastly debated subject matter.
