Processing in Progress: A Benchmark Analysis of Photogrammetry Applications for Digital Architectural Documentation

Since its initial development in the 1820s, photography revolutionized the way people looked at and remembered buildings. Moreover, emerging technologies have enhanced and continue to influence how people record the meaningful features, measurements, and integral elements of historic architecture. Photogrammetry is an evolution in the way pictures document our heritage. The development of photogrammetry, having a history of its own, unfolded over many decades since its conception in the mid-nineteenth century. With today’s advances in computing, photogrammetry is more powerful and relevant than ever.
