Rethinking Wood: Future Dimensions of Timber Assembly

Wood is seemingly an answer to the systemic challenges of scarce material resources, dearth of construction labor, increasing atmospheric CO2 levels, and escalating development costs. Scientists would be hard pressed to engineer a structural material that is as rapidly renewable, easily manipulated and machined, and healthy for the planet and building occupants as wood. Driven by these prospects, but perhaps equally so by its aesthetic and purported biophilic affects, wood architecture is undoubtedly experiencing a renaissance.
