The Truthful Art: Data, Charts and Maps for Communication

Cartographic Grounds is a beautifully conceived and executed book that explores the productive overlaps between mapping techniques and design representation. Desimini, a sophisticated producer of graphic materials in her own right, and Waldheim, a key protagonist of contemporary landscape architecture discourse, are together lucid and enthusiastic writers who bring forth the unique perspective of designers on the subject. Supported by 170 spectacular illustrations spanning 750 years of cartographic history, the authors’ broad curatorial perspective is a great strength of this book.
