Thinking Tools for Systems Thinking

Connecting global conditions to local actions is inherently difficult because it requires a different way of thinking. As cause and effect are no longer directly linked, linear reasoning cannot help us to understand these relationships. The complexity of the problem, given the interactions of multiple evolving causes and effects, must be considered together in order to discover the overall system behavior, including novel emergent effects.
